My Story
A Grounded Presence
on Your Healing Journey
I'm Jarrah Schmah, a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner based in Brisbane, Queensland. My work is rooted in a deep belief that the body holds the wisdom needed for healing — and that healing doesn't require you to relive or retell your trauma story over and over.
Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a body-based approach to healing trauma and stress developed by Dr Peter Levine. It works by gently tracking physical sensations, impulses and emotions to help the nervous system discharge the energy that gets "stuck" after overwhelming experiences.
Whether you're navigating the aftermath of a single traumatic event, childhood developmental trauma, chronic anxiety or stress, I offer a calm and compassionate space to explore at your own pace.
I work with adults in-person in Brisbane and via video for clients across Australia and worldwide. I believe therapy should feel like a genuine partnership — collaborative, respectful, and always at your body's own rhythm.

My Approach
Therapy Rooted in Safety
and Embodied Wisdom
I work from the understanding that symptoms like anxiety, dissociation, freeze, and emotional overwhelm are intelligent survival responses — not disorders to be fixed. By working gently with the body's own rhythms, we can help your nervous system complete what it started, releasing held tension and restoring a natural sense of ease and aliveness.
