What to Expect in an
Online Session
Overview
SE Therapy From Wherever You Are
Online sessions with Jarrah follow the same structure and principles as in-person SE therapy. The therapeutic process, the quality of attunement, and the outcomes are fully comparable — with the added benefit of being able to work from wherever feels most comfortable for you.
Sessions are 50–60 minutes via secure video. Jarrah sees online clients across all Australian states and territories.
Before Your Session
You'll receive a secure video link by email before your appointment. Find a quiet, private space where you feel comfortable and won't be interrupted. You might like to have a glass of water nearby and something comfortable to sit on. Close other browser tabs and silence your phone.
Connecting & Settling In
The session begins with a few minutes of simply arriving — connecting with Jarrah, checking the audio and video are working well, and giving yourself a moment to settle in from whatever you were doing before. Jarrah will often invite you to notice the room around you as a way of orienting.
The SE Work
The body-based work of SE translates very naturally to video. Jarrah will guide you to notice sensations, breath, and body awareness just as in an in-person session. You may be invited to notice what you can feel physically — the seat beneath you, your feet on the floor, the temperature of the air.
Being Seen Through a Screen
Jarrah is skilled at tracking the subtle cues — a slight change in breathing, a shift in posture, colour in the face — that inform SE work, even via video. The relational attunement of SE is genuinely present online. Many clients are surprised by how connected the sessions feel.
Closing & Grounding
Sessions close with grounding — ensuring you're settled before ending the call. Jarrah will check in with you before closing. Give yourself a few minutes after the session before jumping into other activities. A short walk, a glass of water, or simply sitting quietly can help integration.
